Hi, I’m Rachel. I graduated from Brigham Young University’s Master of Social Work program. I also received my undergraduate degree in human
development from BYU while participating as a member of the Cougarette dance team. I loved my time at BYU and feel blessed to have received such an excellent education.

I am extremely passionate about helping individuals gain relief from the struggles they may be facing by empowering them to utilize coping skills they can learn in session. As a therapist, I utilize a very compassionate, client-centered approach that allows my clients to reach their full potential and function well within their circumstances. My goal as a therapist is to create a space where my clients feel safe to process all of their experiences and work through the difficult emotions that may accompany those experiences. The opportunity that I have to walk through my client’s pain with them while instilling hope and confidence, is one that I believe is a true honor and gift.

My therapy approach includes aspects from many modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy, Motivational interviewing, and Emotion-Focused therapy.
In my free time you can find me teaching a dance class, cooking or baking, spending time with
my family, or travelling!
Areas of specific interest include:
Anxiety
Perfectionism

Hey I’m Maddie! I graduated from Adams State University with a Masters of Science in Counselor Education. Because of my love for movement, my Bachelor's degree is in Exercise and Sport Science. It didn’t take long to find out that my passion isn’t so much in the movement alone, it’s the person behind the movement and the way their mind functions. I’ve found learning how to encourage others to practice joyful movement and intuitive eating to be much more aligned with my purpose. I’m also a 200 hour certified yoga teacher and have loved combining my joy for movement with my passion for mental health. Helping others cultivate body awareness and learn ways to form a healthy relationship with their body is a big motivator behind the work I do.

In 2022 I completed a clinical internship at the Rape Recovery Center in Salt Lake City. During my time there I obtained experience working with primary survivors of sexual trauma and became certified as a Sexual Assault Counselor through UCASA. I’ve also had experience working with clients healing from an eating disorder. The modalities I incorporate into my therapy include CBT, ACT, and mindfulness. I also enjoy incorporating a mind-body perspective into the work I do with clients. I’m an advocate for health at every size, HAES, and helping clients learn how to be comfortable in their bodies. Regardless of the modality being used with clients, my work is centered around the belief that through self-acceptance, mindfulness, and compassion, we can learn ways to be at peace in our minds and bodies. I love working alongside people as they discover the tools they already have within them to live a purposeful life.

In my free time you can find me on my yoga mat, hiking, or tending to my overabundance of house plants. I also love cozying up with a book and a cup of coffee at home with my family!

Hi, I'm Caroline. I love being able to meet with people and learn more about their story. I love working with people who are at a crossroads and trying to decide what to do with their lives. I am also passionate about helping people strengthen their relationships with themselves, and connect with their bodies. I also love helping individuals deepen connections with others.

I focus on the client's values and in finding purpose and connection. I believe in client led therapy to discover what the client needs to lead a whole-hearted meaningful life.

I studied at Brigham Young University and University of Utah. I have been practicing since 2004. I learned Spanish while living abroad in Paraguay. "When I first started seeing Caroline, I was in a very bad place. I was a ball of anxiety, stress, and heartbreak. Caroline partnered with me and empowered me to take my life back. She taught me the strategies I needed to manage my mental health and reclaim my life. I'm grateful every day for having Caroline in my life and while I no longer need to see her as often as I once did we stay in touch and I always know that she is there for me if I need her. 5/5 stars just isn't enough!

-Mike

The depth of her knowledge and the quality of her care were impressive! Highly recommended! She was able to challenge me while at the same time making me feel comfortable. I'm confident in my ability to tackle my issues with her assistance!

I honestly don’t know where to begin. When I first went to Sunbird, I was in a very difficult time in my life in many aspects. From the very first session, it was a life changing experience. For the first time in my life, I felt like I was in a safe space. I was able to truly express my emotions. I felt compassion, empathy, and understood. I felt like someone was truly listening to understand me. I don’t know if I would be where I am today if it was not for their amazing job. I am forever grateful, and I highly recommend sunbird for anyone seeking counseling.
